How RecoverYantra Wipe is built
Sanitisation to a published standard
NIST SP 800-88 Clear and Purge, including ATA Secure Erase and NVMe Format where the device supports them.
Verified with the recovery engine
The same engine sold to recover data is run against the erased drive. A wipe is reported as successful only if that engine finds nothing.
A signed certificate
Each completed erasure produces a certificate signed with an Ed25519 key, recording the device, method, times and result.
What RecoverYantra Wipe does
Standards-based erasure
NIST SP 800-88 Clear and Purge, ATA Secure Erase, Enhanced Secure Erase and NVMe Format, selected by what the device actually reports.
Independent verification
The drive is scanned after erasure with the full recovery engine rather than a sampling check.
Signed certificate
Device identity, method used, start and end times, verification result and an Ed25519 signature over the record.
Stated limits
Where a device cannot be sanitised to the level requested, the certificate records the level actually reached.
Guardrails
The system drive and any drive holding the destination are refused, and every erasure requires explicit confirmation of the target.

System requirements
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- Administrator rights to read a physical drive. Working from a disk image needs none.
- A separate destination with room for the recovered data. Results are never written to the drive being read.
Linux
The engine is standard-library Python and runs on Linux from source. A packaged Linux build is available on request.
